Violence over state tuition hike


California State University transfer students are facing another tuition spike. Last week the CSU board raised fees by nine percent, which means an undergraduate student will now pay nearly $1,000 more each year. CSU fees are now $5,970 for the 2012-13 academic year.
Angry protestors at the meeting hosted by CSU Long Beach shattered glass and injured a campus police officer. Three protestors were taken into custody. Long Beach hosted the meeting after CSU San Francisco of¬ficials cancelled one on their campus out concerns for safety. With tuition, fees, books and supplies the annual 2012/13 cost to attendance to a CSU ranges between $8,161 to $10,205.
